"SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW is a cult event. It is closely watched, discussed, and monitored for quality. It is used as a benchmark, and when spring comes, it's good form to ask your partner about participation. Participation or absence at the show of a company, representative of Moscow, federal authorities or a public figure becomes a sign. In any meeting during and after the May show week, the question is asked: How did you like SVIAZ/EXPO COMM?

In any case there still is no other telecom and IT show serving as an indicator of business and market players positioning. SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW 2007 again revealed the objective situation and the impact of administrative pressure. The face of this May's show week was formed under the influence of these two factors."

"The telecom environment is characterized by a number of big national projects, one of which materialized at the Expocentr. It's the global navigation satellite system GLONASS, under the patronage of the President. Project number two, HDTV, was successful from the show point of view, the rest only time will tell. The exhibition, which grew from a section of SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW 2006, became a worthy satellite show and gathered a considerable audience of experts and visitors. It became a forum of convergence of telecom and media showing the direction of the industry development."

    GLONASS

Deputy General Director of the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aerospace Instrument Manufacturing, Mr. Buravin, in his interview said:

"SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW is one of the few shows in Russia which possess the international status not only by its title, but also by the exhibitor selection. The section of GLONASS appeared at the right time in this show. Our first experience in the show was successful. It was helped by the qualitative changes in SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW. The show that was consumer-oriented is now moving closer to the corporate sector. Formerly, it was a mass show, today it became more select. Surprisingly, many people are interested in satellite navigation. We have in fact established the chain: contacts - negotiations - contracts. We count orders by the dozens. In spring of this year at CeBit there were over 350 companies specialized in consumer devices and services of satellite navigation. But many manufacturers do not even know about the existence of GLONASS. International manufacturers do not yet realize the huge benefits of a 2-3 system receiver, which is the equipment of the future."

Magazine "Seti/Network World"

"...For a number of years SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW has been proclaimed to be dying but as always in May, trade visitors from all over the country come to Expocentr. This year it happened again although the size of the show was smaller and the noise level lower.

Industry professionals, especially those from outside of Moscow, still need a platform for an open business dialogue, exchange of ideas, and personal business contacts with providers of services and products. SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW serves these purposes in the best possible way. Besides, the last show by no means could be labeled as "consumer-oriented," which is the worst swearword while criticizing trade forums and events. Typical consumers looking for give-aways and gawking were remarkably absent at the last SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW since nobody was giving souvenirs in exchange for business cards. And the exhibitors were not trying to gather as many visitors as possible at their booths no matter whom. People came to the show with definite business objectives and were interested in concrete business solutions. That's why the average level of business contacts was notably much higher than last year."

Magazine "Age of Quality"

International Exhibition SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW has a reputation of the leading telecom and IT event in Russia, which has determined for more than 30 years the vector of development of Russian telecom and IT industry.

The prestige logo of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and Moscow Government confirm the high international prestige of this event, its significance and importance for the Russian and international telecom industry.

Gazeta.ru (web-portal)

SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW, as was fairly indicated during the opening ceremony, becomes more a business-oriented event.

Actually, there are not too many consumer products at the show, apart from some notebook computers and mobile phones. Exhibitors are demonstrating telecommunication services and equipment in their booths.

Newspaper "New Izvestia"

"...The 19th International Forum SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW gathered more than 600 companies from 29 countries in May. This exhibition is one of the main events at the Expocentr. It is the biggest telecom and IT event in Eastern European countries..."

" The premiere of this event is GLONASS - Global Navigation Satellite System. It is the most important direction of navigation services on a new high level."

Cnews (IT web-portal)

"...The format of SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW really has changed. The show has acquired a solid and businesslike character. This fact has some positive sides - it was very difficult to have business meetings in prior years. When there were a lot of shows, contests were organized by consumer oriented companies.

That's probably why some companies (Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.) preferred to avoid the noisy atmosphere of the fairgrounds and rented boats where they could meet with their clients undisturbed.

...SVIAZ/EXPO COMM MOSCOW has become a Mecca for manufactures of telecommunication equipment...

On the whole, the business programme was rather rich..."
