ITAB 2006: IT & Business Russia

About the Event

photosThe Information Technology sector in Russia represents a growing market for IT equipment manufacturers and software suppliers. Moscow business users, corporate decision-makers and government policy planners are highly confident in the telecom/IT technology flowing into Russia from the USA, Europe and Asia. Russia's enterprise markets are wide open as sales of computer hardware, software, IT services and value-added services are approaching $5.8 billion and projected to grow at an annual rate of 16 percent over the next 10 years.

ITAB 2006: Demand for High Performance Equipment

As the Russian economy gains strength, an increasing number of well-financed and well-managed firms are seeking sophisticated computer systems. Increased demand for access to the Internet, combined with the need to develop network platforms for offices and B2B applications, has generated a huge demand for computer systems and servers.

ITAB 2006: Demand for Enterprise Management Software

For licensed sales of software in Russia, the best prospects are in enterprise software solutions for business and industry. This sector generated $80 million for Russian developers. While local software producers are quite successful, they lack the resources necessary for continued growth on their own. International software firms hold a significant share of the Russian market.

ITAB 2006: Demand for IT Security

The market for information security products and services has doubled, reaching $100 million. Internet security has become a serious concern for public network operators as well as corporate subscribers and residential subscribers. Anti-virus security and Internet security consulting are the most rapidly growing segments in Russia.
