• The Forum
The Forum runs concurrently with CHINA ELECOMM. The Forum on City Informatization in the Asia-Pacific Region will bring together leaders from throughout the region to stimulate technological and economic development. The Forum is co-sponsored by the United Nations, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Information Industry of China, and the Chinese Academy of Science.
The Forum will serve to advance city informatization in the Asia-Pacific Region and help to stimulate economic and social development. The Forum also hopes to bridge the gap between developed and developing cities in the region by utilizing modern information technology and subsequently stimulating regional cooperation.
